TITLE: Consultant/Firm for “Development of Blended Training Curriculum on PYLI, Climate Change, and WASH”

ABOUT WATERAID

The multinational NGO WaterAid operates in 28 nations, including Pakistan. In our ideal world, everyone on the planet would have access to clean, safe drinking water, better sanitation, and proper hygiene. Our goal is to promote access to better WASH services so that the most vulnerable and impoverished people can live lives that are transformed. In order to create and implement suitable, inclusive, climate-resilient, and sustainable WASH programs, we assist local groups and government authorities. In order to secure and defend the rights of marginalized and vulnerable people to clean, cheap, and readily available drinking water and sanitation services, WaterAid also works to influence policy changes.

1)        OVERVIEW

2)       Pakistan Youth Leadership Initiative (PYLI), a three-year project spearheaded by the British Council in collaboration with WaterAid Pakistan, the Higher Education Commission (HEC), local CSOs, public universities, and the Government of Pakistan's Prime Minister's Youth Development Program, is being introduced by WaterAid Pakistan. The "Reach Out to Asia" program of the Qatar-based Education Above All Foundation is contributing funding to the project.

A total of 90,000 young people from communities and colleges will receive training in climate action, leadership, and global citizenship throughout the project's duration. After that, these young people will engage in Youth Led Climate Actions (YLAs) in their communities, concentrating on the following themes;

3)        Tree plantation

4)        Water conservation

5)        Renewable energy

6)        Climate education in Schools and colleges

7)        Solid waste management

Furthermore, these youth will be further involved in policy dialogue and advocacy, participate in national and international climate events, and showcase their successful project

8)          BACKGROUD

9)       With the biggest generation of youth in the nation's history—27% of whom are between the ages of 15 and 29—Pakistan is the fifth-youngest country in the world. There are significant differences in the young population based on factors such as location, gender, and socioeconomic status. Pakistan is among the five nations most impacted by climate change in the twenty-first century. In order to execute climate reduction and adaptation strategies, the project will be crucial in fostering an atmosphere that will allow youth to be fairly included in policy and decision-making related to climate action at the local, national, and international levels. The government, academics, CSOs, and international platforms that support climate action, as well as enhanced youth inclusion, leadership, and participation, will be among the key stakeholders involved.
